With three bedrooms in the house plus a separate games room with extra beds, there’s plenty of space for everyone to spread out and unwind. The main bedroom features a queen bed and private ensuite, bedroom two has a king bed, and bedroom three is ideal for families with a double bed, a set of bunk beds and a single bed. The games room offers three additional single beds, making it a great spot for older kids or extra guests. The main bathroom includes both a bath and shower, with a separate toilet for convenience.
The open-plan living area is bright and welcoming, with comfortable seating, a flat-screen TV with Freeview and Chromecast, making movie nights easy after a day at the beach. A dining table and chairs provide space for family meals, while a sunny window seat creates the perfect spot to curl up with a good book.
Both the lounge and kitchen open out onto the deck and sunny patio area, where you’ll find outdoor dining and a BBQ — a sheltered space perfect for relaxed summer meals or evening drinks.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare your favourite holiday meals, including a dishwasher to make clean-up easy.
The games room also includes a washing machine, super tub and an additional freezer, adding extra convenience for longer stays.
Oyster Haven is just a three-minute walk to the estuary, a wonderful place for a swim, paddle or a play on the sand. Take the kayaks out for a leisurely paddle, or enjoy the tree swing nearby for some classic bach fun. The main beach is also just a short distance away and is perfect for swimming, sunbathing and beach days.
After a day enjoying the sand and sea, head back to the house for a friendly game of pool or darts — there’s always something to keep everyone entertained.

Cooks Beach is a popular holiday spot not too far from Whitianga, with a stunning white sandy beach and sparkling blue water. It’s perfect for a morning stroll and swimming. The beach is not patrolled by Surf Lifesavers, so always watch the conditions. With Shakespeare Cliff to the west and the sheltered Purangi Estuary to the east. Take a walk up Shakespeare Cliff; the views are some of the most beautiful you will see. You can also walk down to the beautiful Lonely Bay with its large limestone boulders and white sands; it’s a photographer’s dream. Cooks Beach itself is perfect for a morning stroll and swimming. You can launch the boat from the Estuary end of the beach, just watch the tides. Cooks Beach has a convenience store and some great eateries. And of course, on the way to Cooks Beach, there are 2 wineries to check out!
Not too far away is Ferry Landing, which has Australasia’s oldest stone wall wharf built in 1837; from there, you can catch the passenger ferry to Whitianga.
You are also a short drive away from Hahei, where, when conditions allow, you can walk the track to the world-renowned Cathedral Cove. The walk takes about 40-45 minutes. If you’re not up to the walk, you can catch the Water Taxi from Hahei Beach. Also not too far away is Hot Water Beach, where at low tide you can dig a hole and sit in your own little hot pool. Spades can be hired from the local shop.
Cooks Beach is a hidden gem and not to be missed on your Coromandel experience!
