Over the years, Papamoa has become a hugely popular spot for holidaymakers. Not far from Mount Maunganui Papamoa has a beautiful, safe beach and has been named one of the best beaches in the Bay of Plenty area.
The growing residential and holiday town has plenty to offer for summer breaks and outdoor adventures, with a safe swimming beach that’s great for learning to surf, the surf school is right by the surf life club, enjoy early morning or late-night strolls along the beach or a quick dip in the sea! If you love a good walk, take a look at the Papamoa Hills walk, which will take you approximately. 220 metres above sea level, with an amazing view from the Kaimai Ranges to Tauranga and further. It’s also a cultural heritage walk with tracks leading to numerous Pa sites. The Summerhill Estate golf course is in the most amazing location at the top of Papamoa Hills, with great views guaranteed to put you off your swing! Kaiate Falls is a short drive from Papamoa Beach, it’s a short hike that leads to two amazing waterfalls.
If you are staying for a few days, then take a drive to Mount Maunganui, it’s about 15 minutes away and has some great restaurants, cafes, and shops. Or take a walk-up Mt Maunganui guaranteed spectacular views.
