Takapu Bach is a newly built modern family bach in Matarangi with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the main bathroom has a bath and a shower, and the second bathroom is an ensuite in the first bedroom which also has a king bed and access to a deck area. The second bedroom has a queen bed and bedroom three has two singles that can be moved to make a king bed and also has access to a deck area.
The living areas are bright and airy and have doors on each side of the space to provide gentle summer breezes that should cool you down in the heat of a Coromandel summer. There are fantastic views of the estuary from the deck and lounge area. The lounge has plenty of seating and a flat-screen TV, the dining area has seating for 6 and there is also seating at the kitchen island bench. The kitchen is well equipped for everything you need for your stay including a dishwasher. For an easy dinner throw together a salad and get the BBQ fired up and enjoy your dinner out on the deck where you will find an outdoor table & chairs.
If the weather is a bit chilly the home has a heat pump/aircon to keep the temperature just how you like it.
Guests also have access to a washing machine and laundry tub.
There is boat parking so bring the toys with you and enjoy the fishing or swimming at Mercury Island!
The section is nice and flat, perfect for lawn games but is unfenced.
Takapu Bach is the perfect holiday spot, just 5 minutes to the harbour and boat ramp, 10 minutes to the shops and about 10-15 minutes to the beach.
Go on, pack your togs, kids and the boat and head to Takapu Bach in Matarangi this summer!

Matarangi has one of the safest beaches on the peninsula, enjoy a day relaxing on the beach, you can swim, body surf, and even throw a fishing line out. You can take a walk or a ride on the walkways and tracks around the village, head to Rings Beach, ride or walk the 8km track or walk along the Matarangi Beach and Spit track. Matarangi has a beautiful 18-hole golf course with club rooms and a restaurant. Every Saturday there is a village market take a wander through and buy some local produce and chat with the locals; the market is located near the 4 Square Supermarket.
If you happen to be staying in Matarangi in April, then you should try “A Taste of Matarangi” a festival where you will be able to try local food and wine and enjoy some great local music.
Take a drive to Whangapoua Beach, which is the gateway to the undisturbed beauty of New Chums Beach a stunning beach only accessible by boat, or by foot at low tide.
Matarangi has several tennis courts available to the public and they are free to use just bring your tennis gear.
The boat ramp is easily accessed so take the boat and cruise out to the beautiful Great Mercury Island, enjoy a swim in the clear waters, or head out for a fish or a dive there are some great spots to find a crayfish for dinner.
Whitianga is about 30 minutes away and is home to “The Lost Springs” You can unwind in the thermal pools nestled in a tropical setting, offering a serene way to spend the afternoon. There are also restaurant and spa facilities available for your enjoyment.
