House - Whiritoa Waikato

Your holiday home:

Tiki Retreat is a charming family bach in Whiritoa. The home has four bedrooms and one bathroom. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, bedroom two has a set of bunk beds, bedroom three has a queen-size bed, and bedroom four has a set of bunks and a single, so it easily accommodates up to 9 guests.
The lounge, kitchen, and dining are lovely, bright, welcoming spaces. The lounge has comfortable seating and a flat-screen TV, and the dining table has room for 6 with 4 stools at the kitchen bench. The kitchen is modern and well-equipped with everything you would need for your stay. There is a washing machine and a dryer available for guests, and there is a great area for car and boat parking. There is also a large back garden with a trampoline. After a day at the beach, the outdoor shower is great for cleaning off the sand and cooling you down. The best feature of this property, though, has to be the deck area. There is plenty of space to sit and eat your meals under the shade sail, and there is a comfortable lounge area that has a great view of the water and out to The Alderman Islands. It’s a fantastic place to laze around and read a book or enjoy an afternoon snack and a cold drink. If you have young children, the bach is quite convenient for both the playground and the beach!

Your holiday world:

Normally a sleepy town, Whiritoa has only a couple of hundred permanent residents. Over summer, bach owners and holidaymakers head here to enjoy the peace. It is located about 2 hours from Auckland and in between Waihi and Whangamata. There is a convenience store if you need to stock up, and there is a library if you need to get some summer reading done! Whiritoa Beach is a surf beach, and the surf lifeguards patrol during the summer, and of course, you must swim between the flags. At the north end of the beach is a lagoon that is very safe for swimming. If you keep walking past the lagoon, there is a short walk to Waimama Bay, which has gorgeous white sand and crystal clear waters. Along the beach are New Zealand’s Christmas trees, the Pohutukawa, which in summer bursts with red flowers. This area is a photographer’s dream. Whiritoa is the place to be if you want a chill vibe, a great place to unwind.
