Upstairs, the main bedroom features a queen bed, generous wardrobe space, and a private ensuite complete with spa bath, shower, and toilet. Large doors open out to a balcony where you can soak in the tranquil surroundings. The second bedroom also has a queen bed, wardrobe, and its own ensuite with a shower.
Downstairs, the living areas are cosy and welcoming with comfortable seating, a fireplace, and a flatscreen TV. French doors open to a sunny courtyard with outdoor furniture, a BBQ, and a small lawn — ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. Inside, you’ll find a dining area and a full kitchen with everything you need, including a dishwasher. The villa also offers a usable garage and a washing machine for added convenience.
There is no WiFi, but with so much to do, you won’t miss it — holidays here are the perfect chance to unplug and enjoy each other’s company.
Just 10 minutes from Pauanui Village, guests staying at the villa gain access to the resort’s fantastic facilities: a gym, table tennis, covered lap pool, leisure pool, tennis courts, and of course the 18-hole golf course and driving range (see Lakes Resort Golf website for green fees). Wander the boardwalk through the wetlands and spot some of the 18+ native bird species — from tūī and fantails to paradise ducks and dotterels.
Villa on the Lake is an ideal escape for golfers, couples, and anyone who enjoys a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature.
Your holiday world:
Pauanui itself is a charming east-coast town between Whangamatā and Whitianga, around two hours from Auckland and Hamilton. While home to about 1,000 locals, it comes alive over summer. Enjoy fishing, surfing, hiking, or simply relaxing on the beach — plus cafés, restaurants, bars, and a small supermarket for convenience. Active explorers can hike Mt Pauanui or enjoy the coastal track below it. A boardwalk and bike trail also link Pauanui to Tairua, perfect for a scenic ride or walk followed by an ice cream. Families will appreciate the skatepark, playground, and the legendary Puketui swimming hole (around 15 minutes away). Pauanui also boasts three golf courses — two 9-hole local courses and the 18-hole Lakes Resort course just beyond town.
