Your holiday home:

Sunny and homely, this two-bedroom holiday home and sleepout makes for the ideal classic summer getaway – Welcome to Cooks Crib! Comfortable and charming, the two bedrooms in the house have a queen bed in the first room, and a king and a single in the second. The sleepout has two bedrooms and a walk through bedroom with queen beds in each space. The home has everything you need to forget all your worries and stresses, slip on the flip-flops, and enjoy a BBQ accompanied by a nice glass of wine. This quintessential kiwi Bach is spacious enough for a family or group of friends, with an amazing indoor-outdoor flow that creates a relaxing summer atmosphere. Make use of the wifi at home, or stream your favourite shows on the TV. From boat parking for a large boat to the large front lawn perfect for the kids to play on, everything you need for a relaxing, classic kiwi summer is here.
Cooks Crib is situated on a large flat site just off the main road with plenty of room for the kids to run around or pitch a tent. Two bedrooms will comfortably accommodate up to five guests here at Cooks Crib, while in the sleepout with the extra beds makes it 11, we do suggest though that as there is only 1 toilet that we limit the number to 6 adults & 5 children which is still perfect for a family group. The family bathroom is in the main house where there is also a laundry with washing machine and efficient heat pump technology completing this ideal set-up. When everyone gets home off the beach, the onsite outdoor shower is just what you need to rinse off any sand that made its way home with you. Head down to the sandy shores of Cooks Beach and take a dip to cool off from the hot sun – you’ll be only a three-minute walk to the beach or two minutes to the shops. Head into town just a 2-minute drive up the road and try out the local eateries or take a drive up to Hahei just a 13-minute drive away, known for its stunning, often deserted beache

Cooks Beach is a popular holiday spot not too far from Whitianga with a stunning white sandy beach and sparkling blue water it’s perfect for a morning stroll and swimming. The beach is not patrolled by Surf Lifesavers so always watch the conditions. With Shakespeare Cliff to the west and sheltered Purangi Estuary to the east. Take a walk up Shakespeare Cliff the views are some of the most beautiful you will see. You can launch the boat from the Estuary end of the beach, just watch the tides. Cooks Beach has a convenience store and some great eateries. And of course, on the way to Cooks Beach, there are 2 wineries to check out!
Not too far away is Ferry Landing which has Australasia’s oldest stone wall wharf built in 1837, from there you can catch the passenger ferry to Whitianga.
You are also a short drive away from Hahei where when conditions allow, you can walk the track to the world-renowned Cathedral Cove, the walk takes about 40-45 minutes. If you’re not up to the walk you can catch the Water Taxi from Hahei Beach. Also not too far away is Hot Water Beach, where at low tide you can dig a hole and sit in your own little hot pool.
